Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ideal candidate will take responsibility for the systems, procedures and controls and the day to day operations of a retail outlet, while achieving the target sales and net trading profit.
He or she will focus on the following key areas
- Provision of a comprehensive world class customer service to the organisation’s customers.
- Specification, merchandising standards and brand volumes in line with the organisation’s specifications.
- Strategic human resource management, performance management, team building and motivation.
- Within each service department; increase the range land develop, implement and monitor the weekly and daily production schedules and budgets
- Foster sound relationships with key suppliers to maintain continuity of supply of range.
- Work on price perception and perform regular price checks to ensure the right pricing.
- Minimize shrinkage through sound security procedures staff motivation awareness
- Establish and monitor systems and controls in all departments so as to oversee; Receiving, Storage and warehousing, Flow of goods, General grocery departments/sales/shop floor, Merchandising, Liquor, Bulk section and Front end and tills
- Develop and maintain high levels of customer service by implementing the relevant in store training programmes, staff incentive schemes etc.
- Engender a team spirit that leads to a pleasant, productive and ethical work environment.
- Promote pride amongst employees to foster a motivated approach to the various tasks engaged in each day.
- Submit reports on company operations locally and internationally on a periodic basis.
The ideal candidate must;
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent
- Have excellent computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
- Have a good understanding of business finance
- Have a minimum of five years post-qualifying relevant experience at a senior management level.
